The Melody Makers will be setting off for a weekend of concerts and cultural education in Liverpool this June. In preparation for this, there will be an evening fundraiser at Bath Abbey on Wednesday 13th May, to which the Bath Abbey Music Society would like invite one and all.
The itinerary for this trip is action-packed, the journey is long, our Melody Makers all have healthy appetites, and therefore, the price tag is considerable. Getting the 40-or-so young singers, along with their entourage all the way to Liverpool doesn’t come cheap, and whilst the Abbey has generously contributed, there are still a few more coffers to be raised.
But please, do not think this evening is all about fundraising — it’s about fun too. The Melody Makers are going to give us a concert, including some of the songs they have been rehearsing for Liverpool; there will be nibbles and also a social aspect to the evening.
Invitations have gone out, but if you didn’t get one, or if you missed other preceding announcements, then please come along anyway and enjoy the music. Entrance is free and you may bring who you wish; the more the merrier – we just ask that you contact Miranda (MEdwards@bathabbey.org) to let her know you are coming and how many of you there will be. The event will be in the main Abbey from 6.30pm to 7.30pm – doors open at 6pm.
We’ll hopefully see you there.
